Missing or invalid data are reported as -999. Time is recorded at the beginning of the averaging period. The averaging interval is 60 minutes. * Soil temperature, soil water content and PPFD_clear and PPFD_full, and Precipitation P_clear and P_full data from 1997-2001 are from the Willow Springs research site (45 degrees 47 minutes N. Lat., 90 degrees 3 minutes W. Long.) 15 km southeast of the WLEF tower. ** Radiation data is from a grassy clearing and may not represent the typical forest cover. PPFD data at WLEF is shaded once each afternoon. *** All 0.01 and 0.02 inch precipitation reports have been removed from the precipitation data. The rain gauge generated many erroneous readings at this site. Some valid data may have been removed. **** We added column 45 in WLEF1997_met.txt as preferred precipitation (Pref_P)in which the data P_full are used during period 0-88 DOY, P_clear during 89-169 DOY and P for the rest of year. The reason is that the data from WLEF in the first two periods appear incorrect. Missing WLEF P data in the third period were filled from the P_full and P_clear columns.
